Make a Needle-Felted Bumble Bee with Pop Up Art School Video available starting March 11th In-Person
Instead, there is larger piece of yellow wool for both the body and the stripes. Tear the large piece of yellow wool to approximately the same size as the white wool in the video, saving the rest that for the stripes. This will produce the same results.
Join us for an online needle felting class and make your own adorable fuzzy bumble bee in honor of the 30th anniversary of The Beekeeper’s Apprentice by Laurie King. You’ll also create beautiful flowers for this friendly little pollinator to buzz around. Learn the joy of needle felting with Pop up Art School from the comfort of your own home. You will gain the basic skills of needle felting with wool fibers and walk away with a finished piece, new tools, and the confidence to continue your felting journey independently!

Kit Notes
Kits will be available for pick up at the Information Desk starting March 6th. You may pick up your kit anytime between 3/6-4/8.
If you are planning on crafting with a friend or family member, please register for each individual kit. It is okay to use the same email to register, but please register under each individual’s name.
This craft is recommended for adults and teens 13+ (needles are sharp).
Your kit includes:
1 needle
2 wire anntenae
2 acetate wings (cut out)
1 piece of green felt "grass" (cut out)
1 bundle yellow wool (body)
3 bundles black wool (stripe and head)
2 bundles white wool (petals)
1 bundle colored wool (flower middle, colors are random)
Additional Materials not included:
Clear Glue (such as tacky glue)
Scissors
Before you begin...
You will need to cut around the acetate bee wings included in your kit. You will also need to cut your green felt "grass" into an oval or desired shape.
Have some clear glue handy. If you do not have any glue there will be some available for use at the reference desk, just bring your finished bee and wings!
Have a flat surface with a folded towel, foam pad, thick sponge, or other protective surface available. The needles are sharp and can damage clothing or furniture.
If your needle breaks, we have some spares available.
