Lian Gouw founded Dalang Publishing to bring Indonesia’s colorful history and rich culture to America through Indonesia's best literature. She also provides a platform for Indonesian writers and translators from which to launch their work onto the international stage.

Join us to hear a thoughtful talk about this lovely country and its challenges and triumphs. Lian will also discuss Dalang's recent publications, including the new novel Blood Moon over Aceh by award-winning Acehnese author Arafat Nur. 

About Lian: Lian Gouw founded Dalang Publishing in 2011. She was born in Indonesia more than 83 years ago. She emigrated to the USA in the early Sixties and is the author of Only A Girl, a novel set in Bandung, on the island of Java in Indonesia. The novel addresses the impact of Dutch colonialism on three generations of Chinese women who experience the Great Depression, WWII and the Indonesian Revolution.
